sorry, yes miss spelling, meant cage. I am going to raise my rear roll bar as it is too low. i will also put a bar around the windscreen and two link bars over head in the middle so i can still get in. it feels like its going to be damn quick in a straight line but i think i need wide wheels on the...
GEARING. Huge impact on acceleration. Craigs running a 3.09 viper diff and the six speed. 90mph in top at 2k. Don't get me wrong, I went in it Friday and it just hammers it's way through the gears (2nd and third anyway and thats 130!). BUT! It's apparantly not that much quicker than the car on the d...
I think you mean P40 type stuff which has some fibre strands mixed in. It is good stuff but I would go for the proper way of doing it even if it looks more messy as I have found it's stronger. You will find a couple of layers will be suprisingly strong. You have done good work there mate - don't sta...
Layers of fiberglass matt and resin will be fine for what you are doing. After all the whole body is made up basically using that method. I warn you it's bloody sticky stuff though!
Are you going to use a 'zues' (spelling) type fastner to hold the bonnet down?
Yes it is good to see some acceptance on there. It is the only forum I know of that has had that mentality but I think that's because they like the fact that it's not a piston engined car to start off with. My Rx - LOL - after gathering dust and bird poop I let it go to Craig. I am investing in the ...
Good thinking, I knew those holes in the front would come in handy for something :) Never thought much about oil coolers. From what I remember just trying to find room for ducting to the intake from in front of the wheel area was a headache so good luck with that! He he - the performance is going to...
Good to see you getting some time to sort thigs mate. I have been waiting for progress reports! If the Pace cooler is the rs500 one then it's the same as I ran in it and directly behnd I had the matching Pace rad and no problems at all with cooling. However, you may be right in going v mount as the ...
I was told they were MKiv stalks if that's any help. Are you going to run a brake bias valve? Going back about 18 years or so when I first tried discs on the back of a kit car (westfield) I had to practically turn them off to get the balance back. Ran on rear drums on all cars (light ones) that foll...
Good advice from Werner. It made me feel ill everytime I had to change something electrical on that car. 99% of what is there was on it when I bought it with the red top engine in. Anyway wire is heavy!
hi paul, good to see you on here, you should introduce yourself to the locals as the previous owner. when you getting the ls in the rex then? I think you just introduced me lol. Well the RX....hmmmmmm long story. Going to sell this one because I've gone on a mission with this Aristo and want to see...
Well done Ant. Glad that work grafting those bloody arches on the back have worked to get the Atlas in as originally intended. Very good to see the front end came off well too as I had not picked up the courage to do it yet! A couple of things - I stipped out about 50% of the wiring cos it was left ...
