Any ''offers ''for my Escort Tec-rak 2.4 turns :?: It's perfect while driving but at the steering wheel (360mm diam) it has 10/12 mm's slack at the circumference . I'm intending to buy a HD bronze bushed rack .

Quickrack is apparently in transit so should get it this week . Craig , if you pm your contact's phone number (Tring) I'll let him know when mine's off the car . Feeling rough this week so might not mess about outside/shed immediately

Hi Rob.

Do you know whats likely to be the culprit for the play in the rack? It's now sat in my garage as flipper never fitted it before he sold it, and I'd like to get it sorted and fitted before the zetec goes in.

I've had a quick fiddle with it and couldn't find any play in the joints at either end, but I may not have been putting anything like enough force into it. Is there any adjustment for lash at the rack+pinion?

Thanks- Craig

Not sure whether the pinion cover can be removed or not BUT the play when on my car was only 10mm at the circumference of my 14 inch steering wheel ---- also my front wheels are 15x7 fitted with very sticky 205 section R888's soft compound. The rack has only done 3000 ish miles from new . If mounted in solid ally clamps which I now have rather than the rubber bushed jobs , it will be mot ok .
