I have just bought a part built stylus and I am going over it to see what needs to be done to get it through IVA, atm I cannot find a chassis number stamped anywhere. This is one of the first of Tim's chasssis, around 2003, can anybody tell me if it was likely to have been stamped and if so where?

It won't have been stamped mine was issued with a chassis number with the paper work, not sure if it would even be OK to use as I think DVLA have to issue it now .

Obviously mine being chassis 32 was a very long time ago but wasn't stamped , just mentoned on the invoice . I then made an ally plate and stamped that to rivet and Sikaflex on the chassis rail.

I can send you a Tim period VIN chassis sticker for the bulkhead, blank, for you to add your own numbers to.
Likely the VIN number needs to come from DVLA, as they wont let you make up your own anymore.

The SSC chassis number itself was on the paperwork, and stamped into the frame by the owner.

Thanks for the offer Matt, I will pm you with my address, let me know how much I owe you.
one other question, the trailing arms on the rear axle are straight on my car but istr that replacements were made as the straight ones were frequently damaged or am I misremembering?
