Some serious body mods

Post by Nissanman »

I've spent the day with a local pro sorting out the body work. First we did the bonnet - both the bulge for the higher engine, and the extra bits for the intercooler pipes - still a work in progress, lots more smoothing to do and the left side hole has been sorted as well, but you get the idea. I like the way the curvy lines of the Stylus have been kept...

And the view from the drivers seat, farily minimal bulge, and as I'm 6 foot I can easily see over the top

We also cut the rear wings and widened by 2 inched to make room for the 235's going on the back

And we've even toyed with the idea of a few Testarossa fins on the doors - though they probably won't make it though the final 'naff or not' test :D :D :D

I like the rear view of the rear arch widening ; not sure what's happening in front , i.e. by the door shut :?: :?: :?:
Rob.(wouldn't it have been easier to RT arch the rear?)
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

The door shut area will be fairly square off with a mesh infill, we won't be doing the fins :D :D

And no - not easier to use RT arches, first, got to pay for them, and secondly all that work only look a couple of hours, another day on it will have it all filled and sanded down. And this way we get exactly the size we want.

Here's the latest on the bonnet - it's getting there now - just needs filler, all the glassing is finally done - and I'm still itching :)

Thought you might like to see it with the wheels - we had to trim the front of the wheel arch to make them fit prperly, but thankfully my measuring worked and we had extended the arch out by just the right amount.

Well that solves the age-old problem of door-to-rear-wing fit then!
We're - flat - broke, but hey! we do it in Stylus!

lovely wheels (had the 5 spoke versions on my old 7 with 235 tyres!), be sure to space your bump stops as it dosn't look as though they will fit within the arch (or i could be the angle of the photo).

Is the picture angle, they fit inside the arch with room to spare, we've jumped up and down on the rear arch to make sure :D :D
