What oil do you use in your type 9 gear box's?

I have been told by several people, one was a gearbox specialist to use automatic transmission fluid....

Im not running mega power through the box.

Thanks

Matt

Mega power or not the best oil for your box is MILLERS nanotech . Google their website and have read or email Nigel Skimming their tech guy. I email him whenever I need info whether for my Alfa road car or the race car , great guy , just tell him exactly where ist's going and what in --- he'll give best advice AND it's an English company , Yorkshire no less :D

I had a chat with BGH Geartech yesterday. He has advised to use 75w90, more specifically Comma SX75w90 GL-4 as that is the original ford oil for the gearbox. Apparantly ATF fluid can qreck the gear box quite quickly. However I know a lot of people who have been using it for years in their type 9 box with no issues! An on-going saga I guess!

I think it was Castrol 75w90 GL-4 I used in mine, got it from Halfrauds at the time.

The wrong oil can make a mess of the gears, someone I know put diff oil in their box....didn't last long
