To my (very) layman's eyes, those photos look a lot like my English axle and googling those part numbers would indeed suggest Ford. Seized rear brakes would definitely sound about right

A 3.54 is an Escort Guia diff ratio -- very high geared , need loads of power to shuv that along.

I think the Axles were all escorts. Either 9" or 8" drums. It could be a Koln axle or an English, but that shouldn't affect the brake parts. Easy way to tell is looking at the back of the axle is there a ring of bolts visible around the centre? If it's all smooth then it's probably an English.

Try uploading pics to somewhere like photobucket then linking them here.

I have a 4.1 Koln axle with Stylus mounts on it available if you need to change ratios.
