I'll be half an hour from Shelsly next Saturday , with half a chance that my brother in law may fancy going --- Anyone going for me to look out for :?: I think it's only a one day meeting not two days .

Well , nobody else was even slightly inclined to go so I went on my own but on the Sunday ( turned out to be a two day meeting) . Forcast was rain but apart from the track being wet in the morning sessions , the rain held off till 3-30pm then it spitted a bit but no real rain till 4-00pm . Then the times increased by 4 to 8 sec's . Under the trees at the Esses never really dried out plus an Anglia dropped it's rods , oil etc right around from entry to the straight in first practice . I met John Bradshaw with his very quickly pedalled Striker 4age 180bhp . He won the class at 34. ???? sec's which was way quicker than the rest of the class plus many other class winners :P
Saw Tony Marsh's Son and Grandson double drive their Mallock with Grandson Tom just pipping his Dad ( it was living next door to Tony when I was 18 yrs old that sparked my interest in hillclimbing , him having been British Hill Climb Champion many times by then . I experienced his awesome car control first hand while passenger with him ------- very impressive
Also very impressive was a Chaparal with just two speeds plus torque converter , which needed to be in gear to start it then lift rev's to 3000 at which point it shot off !!!!!!!
Great day and made my break away worth while even if nothing else before getting back home .
