As mentioned on a much earlier post for this topic , I did contact Tim with a view to him either bringing the RT400 or even taking mine up the hill , to show us how it's done
Sadly , he just can't attend but this time not because he's committed abroad with a rally team BUT he's going to be with a rally team car at CASTLE COMBE 's ''rally show'' on the 18th August --- the day before PRESCOTT :o .
Then of course he's got to get the car/s back overnight , so will be shattered anyway --- then away the next day :(

Anyway , we had a good long chat tonight , old times etc etc :P

Sorry guys , I shouldn't have asked that 3.0 diesel question on this topic --- I've moved it to :!: what doesn't fit anywhere else ok. :!:

I've contacted COMPLETE KIT CAR mag / Ian Stent , regarding the club stand at PRESCOTT . They sent Adam Wilkins to cover our LLANDOW club stylus trackday , so thought I'd let them know what we were doing . Apparently it's too late to get it in the next copy but Ian asked me to get photos of our cars on the stand and any other interesting snaps for another ''copy'' date . I'll put together a few comments to go with them , so if I don't get good enough photos , perhaps those who have better cameras (Stuart / Matt :?: ) can get our stand plus anything that might go well in the magazine :P Just email anything you've got to me then I'll put them all together with ' ownership/pic's ' for Ian to choose what suits ok :D .

Got my car pass the other day Rob, cheers.

Here's praying for some sunshine! Cos if it's going to rain I don't think they will allow a Peugeot 308 into the gathering.....

I'll be bringing my camera too, no promises of any decent pics though.

If anyones interested here's a few of my pics from Yesterdays Steam Rally: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 26c776b140 (you don't need an account to view, just click on the first pic to view it larger and then keep clicking to scroll though the pics)

Thanks Rob , between all of us there'll be a good selection of pic's for the Mag ----- they'll likely just choose one or two but I'll asign peoples names to pic's ok.

I've been monitoring the Gotherington weather 10 day forcast since last weekend which showed showers for SAT/SUN at the start then has varied each day since . From sun and showers to sun both days with a little cloud , in today's forcast AND 78 to 77 degrees :P
Frankly , if it merely doesn't rain I'll be very happy , so this latest forcast would be a bonus :D
There's a club house and restaurant there plus various mobile food outlets -------------- I have my 10 x 10 eaz-up to go up too ------ it'll be just fine

I'm really looking forward to this club come motorsport day out 8)

Black B & C Air Jacket waterproof with SSC logo arrived today :P Mine's ' large ' so I can wear it over other things but all sizes available --- black's the only colour that will show up the logo well but other colours are available s to xxl .
It can all fold away into one of the side pockets if need be

Not a great photo using my iphone but you get the idea If anyone fancy's one then shout , but preferably several of you then a sensible price can be negotiated . This is a one off so had to pay £30 with the embroidery/post/pack.

Not at the venue Rob --- it's showing sun and almost 80 degrees SAT SUN and MON :D for Cheltenham -- Perhaps your end then aye :?:
R888's will be absolutely fine in the wet . Don't drive it like you stole it though --- it's only when turning the steering wheel at slow speeds with too much throttle that you could come unstuck.
If you consider it will rain on your way down then pop more psi in the tyres , say 20 to 22 psi --- that will clear running water better but just be a bit harder ride --- let them down to 17 psi once here :P

I've never been before so don't know what it will be like trying to get through public walking plus traffic then through to our club stand in the paddock (supposed to be there for public viewing)
Do what you can , earlier is easier driving with not much about though. I'll be there to set up by 8-00am . Look out for the flag

I've been to Prescott on some of their busier days. You'll be fine getting to the club stand, when you get there you drive in to the competitors entrance which is effectively the start of the hill, the start line is 30 yards from the road, it then splits to the left for the paddock (where our stand will be) or right to an open field where club stands are usually located. You may get held by the entrance gate if cars are exiting the paddock to do a run.

I meant to say I've never been to a Retrogathering at Prescott before --- to know how busy it will be ---- 650 tent spaces were sold plus the public :!:
I've been there at normal hill climb events

Sorry i didn't make it Rob, the nail in the coffin was having to spend all day at my new factory yesterday with the alarm engineer which only left me today to spend with the family and to actually have a rest!

Hope you guys had fun without me
