Managed to fit nice long 6" silencer into the cill.
Now looking at the manifold - being a tight arse - I'd rather build a manifold myself out of Jetex parts (they do everything!)
EXCEPT they don't do a 4-1 collector. I need to collect 4x1.75" pipes into 1x2.5" and have scoured the net - but can't find a thing!
May have to make my own anyone any better ideas?????
(Rob, I know you said 17/8" primaries - but 13/4" is quite close !!??)

You would be surprised at the power difference by being either under or over the ideal advised by P. Dunnell . The length is more flexable although they must be exactly equal length. His formula for primary length at 200 + bhp is 28 to 32 inches . Mine are 28.5 ''. I'll have to measure mine for diameter as I've forgotten whether 17/8 is internal or external Well it was over 3 years ago
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ ! Alfa Red 159 2.4 jtdm ti 260bhp 365lbft / BilsteinB12 + Adjustable Powerflex camber/castor bushes. Red STYLUS 2lt zetec 231bhp 185lbft Dunnell . RED 1972 Alfa 2lt GTAm replica 170bhp.

I made my own manifolds some years ago from a kit supplied by Europa Specialist spares. It cost about £200 for a V8 kit in mild steel, and included flanges, 4-1 collectors, and a big selection of bends and straight tube.
Alex , this is specifically for your 200bhp plus 2lt ZETEC & not to be duplicated for other capacity's or engine manufacturers as they all have their own charactoristics . How yours will perform with whatever headwork and cam profile it's got is uncertain BUT ---------- 1 7/8ths is the external diameter of my primaries as advised by P.Dunnell SO -------- 1 3/4 's will be correct internally. Dunnell will sell you a flange for this purpose & maybe a collector too. Refer my name to him if you use his stuff
By the way , I don't recall what/who's cams/fuelling/management your using. I've still got Dunnell ECU & LOOM/ CAM / FETTLED INTAKE / CARB'S etc etc in parts for sale amongst other things
Regarding GOOD FABRICATIONS in Long Crendon , Bucks --- they are F1 standard with an 8 week waiting list . I called to see them last week.

Thanks for that Rob - I may bite the bullet and get someone who knows what they're doing to fab it rather than me - depends on costs....
I'm running a ported (by me) head - Dave Andrews gave me some guidlines. Raceline 200bhp spec cams (Kent) dialled in to their suggested timing and Wber Alpha 45mm throttle bodies mapped sort of by Northampton Motorsport. When they 'mapped' it - it was in the region of 175@fly but I know you said you thought there results were pesemistic.
Still, I know with a decent zorst I should see another 15bhp (my existing exhaust is mashed down to 1.5" as it goes under the car!
Still trying to work out how to pay for new manifold AND/OR soffits and fascias - there's no choice is there?

Right, I've got the 304 stainless sorted. I've got a top notch welder guy willing to come round to my house and weld the thing up for me. I've also decided to make my own collector - (I'll leave myself a few days to do it in )
The next bit is the toughie - how the flip do I make sure each length is exactly the same - I mean I realize that the best way is to start with 4x40" lengths and keep each length seperate for each cylinder BUT how on earth do I decide upon routing the damn pipes to ensure they all come out and meet nicely at the collector?????
Anyone get any good ideas? Rob - any chance of some piccies of yours to give me a head start???
Thanks boys......

I understand that PPC has an article (or the first part of) on building your own exhaust this month, I havn't got my copy yet so can't confirm it.

The obvious start point would be the furthest away port first . That one would be quite straight then the others in order of their distance from the collector . That way it will be easy to gradually lose length in each one by looping it. Whatever length that first one is within the 28 to 32 '' , you can then follow ---------- doddle
