My 4X4 for sale

Post by stylussprinter »

My Toyota LC LC5 3lt diesel has to go , now too juicy for me even on my low mileage --- it's an auto top of the range 2005 car with towbar fitted . Mileage now 73,433miles of which 23,600 miles is mine since buying it in March 2009 when I retired.
Cruising around at low speed(40 to 50mph) she'll do 27/29 mpg otherwise it's 25mpg . I've serviced it myself every 4000 miles since buying it , also adding ZX1 Extralube on several occasions although they reckon every 25,000 miles is plenty but I'm a belt and braces man
£14,900 or close to it ---- they're over 40 grand new.
Pic's available PM if interested.

The replacement is a 2009 Alfa Romeo 159 2.4lt diesel jtdm ti in Alfa red :P

Time will tell :) I absolutely love it as a passenger vehicle , it's just the towing that'll need to be proved . There's no way servicing will be done as specified though at 20,000 miles --- I'll be doing it myself at 8 to 10 thousand using Millers plus the old ZX1 Extralube :P
Particulate filter can be a problem apparently but I've done my research and it's normally if you only do 2 to 5 mile runs --- then the automatic valve in the filter gets opened to run it hotter via ECU throwing more fuel at it BUT then closes again through stopping after just the few miles --- so the process never completes. Short runs are fine as long as it also gets long fast runs for the system to opperate efficiently.
The other point needing regular attention is tyre pressures because the wheels are 19 inch so tyres are very low profile , making sidewalls more important not to kerb or let pressures drop.
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Just awaiting a digit correction on the Cruiser's log book via the DVLA --- been wrong right from being a new vehicle :o Didn't notice it myself but my prospective buyer did.
Deposit paid and deal done , so SOLD in principle 8)
We'll have to see how long the guys in Swansea take to send me the corrected log book :?: .
