Nigel Waylen
Kit purchased November 1997, on the road 2001. Very patiently
?? built of course in my spare time during fine weather periods on the
driveway (no room in the garage), hence long build time.
Colour Fiat sassi grey metallic (pearlescent), fitted with Ford
1700 Xflow built by Paul Alliss, East Lincs Motorsport, with BCF3 cam
- lightened flywheel - twin 40 DCOE Webers - lumenition ignition - plus usual
mods - 5 speed type 9 gearbox - reconditioned 3.54 diff - TSW alloys - oh and
of course Rover door handles.
Only squirts out about 125bhp, but good enough for a silver
haired (same pearlescent colour as car), old wrinkly like me. It has
certainly turned the heads of many grannies in the village.
At Castle Combe race meetings, the car is always parked at
Quarry Corner where it attracts many admirers. Why don't you bring your
Stylus and join the 'Quarry Club'?
Car featured in the October 2003 edition of Which Kit? (p86 &
87)
