Rossco, I' m also an Aussie, been living here 22yrs but heading back to sydney in December. I haven't yet looked int...

Re: More work & £££ !

Hi all, still watching altho not doing much these days. Too many other irons in the fire !! I see that Matt needs info on Intercooler placement. Photo included with my install onto the Nissan CA18DET and a redesigned front mount frame. Both the Radiator & the Intercooler are rubber mounted to th...

Re: Bringing Back the Dead.

Hi Guys, Did a bit more research & I have to say I was a bit wrong in stating that the fitting I used "was not a Rod End" I was thinking in terms of a Tie Rod End, which it certainly is not! It is indeed a Rod End, the type that is known as a "Heim Joint" or a "Rose Join...

Re: Bringing Back the Dead.

Have i got this right?? I would need to mount the end of the first section (from s/wheel) and the beginning of the 3rd section (to rack) but the middle piece of column wouldnt need mounting?? Yes, you have got it right !! The mounting bearing is NOT a Rod End altho it looks a bit like one. The part...

Re: Bringing Back the Dead.

I had the same clearance problem --- clearing the Oil Filter. The attached photo is a plan view of the RHS of my Nissan CA18DET showing the Uni-joints & the second side view shows the Blue Filter installed. A straight steering shaft "went right thru that filter" Hope this helps, Rossco...

Re: Roll bar - door hinges - front chassis frame

Bob wrote above that he needs drawings & details for a Roll Bar, the Door Hinges & the Front Chassis Frame. If he, like me, is not going racing, then I have designed a simple yet strong Roll Bar -- Not yet made, but I have a full size drawing, passed by a top South Australian Roll Bar/Roll C...

Air Scoops

Have Emailed Rob recently re fitting a Catalytic Converter into the left side body sill. 'Tis fraught with dangers as a Cat. Conv. gets VERY Hot. Rob did mention back somewhere that I was having troubles complying with the Aust. Design Rules. Well, the ADRs were relaxed just recently such that a Cat...

[quote="Antnicuk"]i fitted the arms yesterday which all went as planned, Now more than a week later, since your photos of Arms, Rose joints etc. & I am surprised that no one has picked up the fact that your "Bent Arms" have the shocker mount holes well up above the line of th...

Rusty Bolts

Received an Email from Martin -- Via Styluslist -- saying his Damper bolts had rusted in and he would have to cut them out!! Such a catastrophe should never happen, --- IF you take care and a little time to smear an Anti-Seize compound on the bolts first. My advice to all Stylus builders, in fact to...

Re: My build progress & a million questions

we mounted the relays and fuse boxes including the ECU module on a fold down panel under the dash. makes it all nice and neat then and hidden! Thanks Guys, also to Rob. Have had time to look at the setup & the fold down panel idea looks good. I assume you hinged it from the bottom front edge of...
