Flip front measurements
As I snail my way to getting the baby painted, I'm now caught by the idea of moving to a flip-front before spending oodles of wonga on a decent paint job. The fact I can find very few reliable guys around either Swindon or Reading to do the paint is a matter for another post. Anyway, I'd like to can...

MOT post IVA
Quick Q to those recently on the road: How can you confirm whether you have 3 years before a mandated MOT? I'll probably get one beforehand for peace of mind, but if DVLA get itchy about it in a few months time, what is the proof for a Q-plate? Incidently, the reason for a Q-plate comes down to noth...

Re: hood
Hardtop is a nice idea, however apart from the practicality aspect, I seem to recall a comment from quite a few years back about the wing effect that this may create. Obvious answer is to balance with a rear wing, but not sure what the effect would be on the front? Anyone friendly with a university ...

Re: hood
I know this is an ancient thread, but with this weather I'm trawling to look for a hood, a design or a contact. I've had no luck getting hold of softbitsforsevens, or any of the others listed in various threads. (That bit took ages as apparently 'hood' is a too common word to search!? Aargh) If you ...

Re: Help - How to put stylus into preservation?
A friend (of a friend etc...) suggested topping all liquid levels to brim full, to prevent internal corrosion? and then dropping everything and replacing it with new at correct levels.
Sounds logical, but few things actually are in my experience

Help - How to put stylus into preservation?
I'm faced with yet another short notice long term deployment, and I need some rapid advice on how to put my stylus into preservation for up to a year. It will be under cover, but not in a fully enclosed building so exposed to temperature and humidity. What do i need to watch out for as far as sealin...

Re: lambo doors mod
Well, I can finally get some phots onto the net about my door project. Still some minor and one or two major teething problems regarding piston strength, but so far nothing pushing itself through the fibreglass. the basic premise is that the door pops open sideways to clear the A-pillar (including w...

Now also interested in hood rails / hood / hard top cover, although probably in even less of a rush than anyone else as i'm off to Oz until about Jul next year
if anyone has any patterns that are electronic or can be sent out, I'll have a go at copying / making some up while I'm there.

Re: Stylus Units Sold
SSC020100 - now "some meaningless DVLA drivel" :( Name's Mark (me, not the car - I'm not female!), car specs are Zetec 1.8, live axle, with possibly one of the first RT shells. But still not on the road, and now finished but delayed IVA until next year as I'm abroad until July. Big party w...

DVLA contact numbers
The good ol' 0870 con is in full swing at DVLA  , so I thought anyone frustrated at this might be interested in this site: http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php search for DVLA and you can get most of the direct dial numbers for local offices and the non 0870 number for Swansea. now if only th...

Re: Stylus Units Sold
An old topic, so I thought no-one would mind if I hijacked it slightly  Anyway, my chassis is SSC 020100, so that would make it around 2002, but still not registered  so my question is this - what is the format that DVLA will accept chassis numbers now, as VOSA won't process my IVA applic...

Thanks for the info, much better. My computer must be playing up or my mind going as I didn't realise anyone had replied before I edited the original post - again a reminder not to post too late at night. Paperwork going in tomorrow, hoping for a date in July / early august and then we'll see. Any t...

Re: Adjustable wishbones - camber / castor
Well let's get down to basics. The top pivot should be behind the bottom pivot . Not sure if you have Seirra or Escort M2 uprights but the direction is the same , just better geometry on the Escort. I'll measure mine -- top to bottom and let you know ok. Don't worry about having more than 3.5 just ...
