Thanks and bye

The new owner of my RX7 Turbo engined SSC Stylus picked the car and the trailer up this weekend. Will miss it greatly but just didn't have the time any more.

Many thanks to all who provided help and advice over the 5 years I had it.

All the best

Re: SSC Stylus with 400bhp Mazda RX7 Turbo Engine

MOT acquired and compression test shows a very healthy ported rotary engine. A test drive reveals that the car is still breathtakingly fast (I'd forgotten quite how fast). Relatively expensive for a stylus but you won't find anything else quite this exciting for the money. There is only one ;)

Re: SSC Stylus with 400bhp Mazda RX7 Turbo Engine

Thanks very much. I still mean to go sprinting but perhaps I was a little ambitious with the amount of time I had to spare ;) I do have another track car ready to go and could go sprinting in that next year possibly... always have to look on the positive side. This is a more road oriented rx8 with a...

SOLD - SSC Stylus with 400bhp Mazda RX7 Turbo Engine

This is just a quick post to gauge interest and to potentially save me using ebay (and paying their fees). After four and a half years I'm going to be selling my rx7 engined Stylus. I just don't have the time to put in to it any more... it's an incredible track car but a new job has drastically cut ...

Bit more track action from Abingdon

Not the most successful of days but good fun while the car worked...

Back in to the garage now for a bit of a tidy up and to work on the niggly areas.

Cheers,

Re: Castle Combe Trackday with MSE, 31st July 2015

Looks great 8) How do you find your shell type seats for comfort? Considering swapping out my oofy Cobra ones for shells with foam pads to get a bit lower in the car. No problems with the seats at all but I don't drive it for long periods. They hold you in with the harness really well and don't fee...

Re: Castle Combe Trackday with MSE, 31st July 2015

Brilliant , that's where these little cars really score ON TRACK . You need to let hot air out via the sills . Cut fibreglass from front to back where you'd normally cut for exhaust side exit. Underneath if you don't like the side looking empty and right back to the ally plate that's rivitted to th...

Re: My day at Gurston Down hill climb school

Did you fit them just for that day Mark ? They do need normal braking and not too savage first to remove that rather odd surface treatment that EBC put on them --- normal road driving for around 100 miles before full braking power is available. Feel then changes quite a bit. Ah, they did get a bit ...

Castle Combe Trackday with MSE, 31st July 2015

Did my first circuit track day on friday at Castle Combe having just done airfields before now. The experience is well worth the extra money as it's far far more satisfying to hit your lines when there's an actual edge of the circuit to deal with. I loved the track although some run off wouldn't hav...

Re: My day at Gurston Down hill climb school

Did a day at Castle Combe on friday with the yellows. They worked fine and plenty of stopping power but I have to say that I didn't like the feel of them as much as what I had on before and I'm not finding they work that well without a bit of heat in them. I won't be throwing them away by any means ...

Re: Hi-spec brake caliper brackets

All starting to make sense now... http://www.clubstylus.be/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=446 Antnicuk decided to fit the discs outboard next to the wheel rather than behind the hub which is why none of it looks like anyone else's. I can make this work for now but will address this over the winter wh...

Re: Hi-spec brake caliper brackets

Great thanks. I picked up some yellow stuff pads by the way. I'm just renewing the soft seals in all the calipers at the moment but I'll let you know how I get on with them. At the moment my calipers are mounted on the outside (wheel side) of the lugs on the upright but as that surface isn't machine...

Hi-spec brake caliper brackets

Does anyone have hi-spec calipers (prefer billet 4) fitted to the front of their stylus? If so could I ask if you have or could take some pictures of the mounting brackets for me please? I have them on my car but I'm not entirely happy with the brackets currently being used.

Thanks

Mark
