Bottom Balljoint

Looking for the ball joints for the bottom of the front wishbones.

I thought they were transit but the taper is far too large. Transit ones are 16mm but the one I have on the car is about 13.3mm

So looking on here I found QR1774RHT but looking at the details here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Quinton-Hazell- ... B006ELSP6A the threads are different to what I have on mine. the shaft is M18x1.5 and the ball is M12x1.5 but that says its UNF so I guess that's not right either?

Any pointers or ideas?

What was the conclusion on this in the end?
A part number would be perfect. :D

Just ask for ldv van joints right hand, and check the joints in the box, they seem to have a habit of putting lh ones in Rh boxes, ask me how I know

I got fed up with the boots splitting & converted it to rose joints, was dead easy.

Can you expand on what parts you used and where you got them from, I like the sound of this.

Matt I'm sure will be along soon I'm sure he had a drawing for the pin to go in the stub instead of the ball joint and then convert to rod end.

Edit check this post out may have all you need

are you running the MK2 escort uprights and the usual LDV bottom ball joints?

If so...could you kindly put the link to the exact parts that you used? I defiantly want to do the conversion before i set all my camber etc up as my boots have already been pinched and its not on the road yet!!

Thanks for your help!

Matt

Hi Matt - I bought them 5 years ago so don't have the info any longer. I think you can see what you need from my writing on the envelope in the picture?
Yes its escort struts.
Shouldn't take you too long to find the bits :-)

Did the spacers in the photos come from the same people?

How come you used 4?

Thanks

My only other question for you is what did you do with the taper in the hub?
