Gear Stick

Post by Pete&Matt »

Where is the best place to cut the gear stick down on the Type 9 box? Do I keep the rubber anti-vibration damper in and cut above it, or remove it and cut below?

Thinking of cutting above it and keeping it, as it will act as a retainer for the gear leaver gaiter too.

Never see any type 9 with a rubber anything , mines all metal but is a quickshift on my CR box . Height wise , I wouldn't be tempted to cut it very short to be ' cool ' as is said these days . I've got mine no more than 6 inches away from my left hand when at quarter to three on the steering wheel.
It's much better to have it close to the hand rather than a mile away just to look ' sporty ' .
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Mine has a rubber anti vibration thing on it! I have left it in and cut the stick down a bit, but is in a comfortable position etc and not too short.
