Star crack wise , if you paint afterwards then just grind them out , lay more fibremat , fill etc and paint --- if you want it to stay gelcoat , I've no experience with that.
Flipfront wise --- whatever you do don't take the body off until you've made it into a flipfront or you will have great difficulty in lining everything up to achieve a good shut. I've outlined a how to do it description with measurements for '' Lambostylus '' on this forum . Any problems just contact me.
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Ok thanks for that. but on the flip where you cut do you bond a piece on to the shell so it sits flush when you put it down.
I take it you use a hinge from a fury
still would like a photo or to look at one to get it right in my head before I cut :?:
the front end as solid disc's and m16 calipers so could I assume they are Cortina uprights

Fury hinge doesn't align with any Stylus --- you use the existing A frame modified . I designed my own because I didn't like the partial opening you get with FURY STYLUS or PHOENIX hinging system. Plenty of builders on here have converted to flip front using the Stylus A frame. You use one of the bolt holes each side as the hinge --- there are two each side.

When you've cut and tidied up then you bond resting/shutting ledges at the bulkhead end top/side . The areas horizontal can be secured in several different ways , depending on your ability and cost etc. You're very welcome to look at mine anytime you like , just pm me for address ok.
It's very unlikely that uprights are CORTINA , apart from my own ally billet , most are either ESCORT , SIERRA or TRIUMPH/late models .
Regarding photos , just send me your email and I'll send some of my conversion.
