Battery

Post by Pete&Matt »

What battery do you use? I have a width of about 175mm and not a lot for the length or the height! From previous conversations with Tim, a motorbike battery is normally used??

Thanks

I use this one http://www.powervamp.com/products/odyss ... 0-battery/

It's gel so can be mounted on its side. You can get a bracket from them so it's securely fitted. Starts my Zetec with no problems.

Mine came direct from Powervamp at Stonleigh many years ago. Think it was about £70.

They are listed on eBay here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ODYSSEY-EXTRE ... 1457105386

PS: You will also need to buy the Posts for it too if you use the normal clamps on your cables as shown in this package deal: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Odyssey-PC680 ... 1193198957

I'd go for Odyssy Extreme , they stand the pace better than Redtops . Hamilton Classics do them :!: I use the 25 and mine starts very well.
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

The Odyssey seems to be the most resonable to go for. How have you mounted yours too? The placement for mine is the passenger side by the firewall and has two small plates either side to put some tie bars to clamp tge battery in place. Some pics would be excellent if possible?

I can email pic's but can't put them up here --- moving to photobucket then to here is totally beyond my PC skills  I'll send some Matt.

I think a lot of these small gel ones are the same product with a different label on them.

I have gone for the clubsport battery in the end. it is identical to the odyssey 650, but is half the price! the only difference is how many years it will last before needing replacing.
