Goodwood revival

Post by Shooter63 »

Anybody on here going to the goodwood revival? We will be making our normal pilgrimage, we do all 3 days, no doubt we will be in our normal position just up from the marshall post opposite the members area on the inside of the lavant straight.

Just to let anybody know who was thinking of going and didn't , you missed one of the best races ever, the thunderbolt came from the back of the grid to win the Saturday st Mary's with tom kristensen driving like a demon against a couple of suspiciously fast lotus cortinas and a lovely Alfa GTA

I would liked to have seen that Alfa GTA , who was driving it ? The St Mary's Trophy is my favourite Revival race which viewed at St Mary's and the ' dip ' is awesome. Did it stay dry ?

The driver of the Alfa on Saturday was Nick Minassian ( or so the programme says) a real wheel man, he gave the cortinas a pasting , the driver on Sunday was max Werner and nick swift was all over him like a rash, but the star was the thunderbolt, these things had a reputed 650 bhp out the show room, they are my favourite early sixties ford and it was a great treat for me to see one. The handling was pretty good as well not just straight line speed, I was hoping for just a little rain to grease the surface up, so we could watch a real David and Goliath with swifty and the bolt.
Like you st Mary's is my favourite race when it's for cars between 60-66 but then again I love the TT and the, well I love all the races apart from that 30s crap ( my words) they just aren't fast enough to make a spectacle , but then again I like the f3 500s ( mad little cars seemingly following no design principles)
