Carpet around handbrake

Post by Pete&Matt »

What is the best way to get the carpet around the handbrake guard?

I have the carpet templates from Matt, but there is no allowance for it.

Do I assume that I cut a separate piece and then stich it into the tunnel carpet piece?

Thanks

I'm not exactly certain of your question , however I'll assume it's how to keep the carpet away from the lever's movement . Around mine I have a cardboard like material about 4mm thick , surrounding the lever over it's total movement length and starting flat against the tunnel a few inches before and after that movement. The lever's actual total movement has this cardboard approximately 30mm's away from the tunnel and the carpet is glued to it.
If your talking about the area where the cable connects to the lever end and goes through the tunnel ---------------- that piece of carpet is simply a cut slit to allow it to move.
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !
