well, finally got the tank I designed made - very happy so far, fits like a glove and is over 40 litres. Also acts as the rear diffuser. Doesn't need a sump either as the pick up is right at the bottom of the wedge.
Roll bar at fabricators now so that's next.
Then underfloor panelling to join the aero work I've done at the front to the aero work I've done at the back!
Might even get it on the road in 2015 - that'll be 4 years since it last turned a wheel!
(the slightly wobbly diffuser panel will be sorted :-0 )

With hindsight, I could have made the wedge at a shallower angle and got another 10 litres in there.
Oh well, too late now, tank/diffuser/roll bar all done.

Do you have the plans for it? and roughly how much did it cost?
Looks like you have a live axle?
Do you run injection?
norma, do you have any sketches or dimensions for your design? orange gunk in my fuel filter currently so it looks like my Midget tank isn't long for this world... I loathe to spend £100 on a new one when that could be put toward a bigger and less rust-prone one!
My tank does not include swirl pot because I run a small lift pump from the tank to a swirl pot at the front of the car, that's where the inj pump is situated.
So if you're not using a swirl pot, I advise you take some advice from here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1196
I will try to add the sketches I did - some problems with dimms moving a little, but you get the gist......

A small updte for anyone thinking of doing this: I just had a new tank made for a Dutton, using an Bosch 044 style pump. They made it wrong unfortunately so that the fuel outlet comes out at the top so I was concerned that the pump might not work due to lack of a gravity feed.
So we just tried it using a fuel can and a couple of pipes to and from the pump, holding the pump a couple of feet above the can.
It worked fine.
So seemingly there is no need for a bottom outlet or for the pump to be low mounted
