I’m looking to move from Sierra uprights to cortina billet ones from RallyDesign’s while increasing the track width by 50mm.
I’ll also be moving from 0ET front wheels to 18ET, these I already have.
Info needed:
1. Is there any changes to steering rack position needed? Will be sourcing extenders for the escort rack.
2. Is the lower wishbone the same? I easily have 20mm these can be wound out.
3. Although the geometry is different between them is one setup wider than the other?
4. Any other changes needed?
5. What goes in the top of the uprights to connect them to the round taper in the rocker?
I’m hoping Matt can supply the rocker arms needed.
All info greatly appreciated.

Re: Cortina uprights & increasing track width
I've only one comment to make , my cast alloy Cortina uprights sheered off at Goodwood , due to them being '' cast '' not billet . A seriously hard lesson but on track there was immediate marshals and ambulance etc , so all was ok. However , I most definitely woud not use alloy cast material on a road car , it could be a dangerous situation should you hit a pot hole or you lose it on a roundabout and touch a curb . Mine , after that were made by Andy and Dennis Silman at SILTECH RACING in Norfolk , in billet alloy material plus were improved whilst about it . I would feel guilty if not telling you Alex should something happen .
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Thanks Rob.
I thought the RD ones were billet, but knowing you had them improved I’ll get in touch with Dennis.
Anyone got any info on any of the other questions?

For reference these are the RD ones I’m considering; https://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_i ... ubjt18psc2
They do state manufactured from billet rather than cast.

Re: Cortina uprights & increasing track width
Concern appreciated Rob, cars getting a hard life on and off the track these days.
I’m only just starting out in Sprinting and Hill Climbs, it’s a big step up from the autosolos I’ve been doing, but those venues suffer from pot holes or hard transitions from tarmac to concrete (the joy of old air fields ); number one concern is safety, hence full cage rather than just rear section.
I did the Great Western Spint a couple of months ago, the adrenaline buzz was amazing, I’m now booked in for Dick Mayo!

Well done , enjoy yourself . It's such a shame that more STYLUS owners don't compete , it's what creates interest in the marque .
