Shock Bolt Centres
Shock Bolt Centres
Does anyone know what the distance is between the bolt centres on the front and rear shocks? Were putting the car down on its wheels and want to put some angle iron in, in place of the shocks for the moment.

Really depends on your set - up / shock length / spring length . Over the years different ones have become standard. As a guide , I would measure your shocks open then closed length --- take the midway position as an approximate length just for fixed rods. That's o.k. then because Phil's is Nathans converted classic and he changed the back end to concave links so longer shocks. SortedPete&Matt wrote:Rob, ours are concave/bent type.

To lower the car while still allowing even longer shock travel for better /grip/handling/roadholding.
I lowered mine before having concave trailing arms which involved shorter shocks/springs to avoid running out of piston travel .If I'd not done that then there would be NO SUSPENSION , ultimately bending arms etc. This of course made my car very sensitive so eventually converted to SSC's concave arms once Tim had developed them . They're all concave since then with great advantage for kit buyers after that.
