One step closer

Post by hearbear »

Car took a step closer by now being able to start and continue to run with cooling all hooked up :D Only problem is the electric water pump is leaking between the motor and the pump I have to return this :( brakes bleed able to try clutch and gearbox :D I can now drive down the driveway and back, This makes putting it back in the garage a lot easier. Just need to finish the exhaust to reduce the noise level. The SVA will be getting applied for soon.

please let me know how you get on with the electric pump. I asked a supplier about one some time ago, and was told at the time they were only suitable for drag racers/sprint cars etc. I'd love one if they are really reliable as I could simplify pulleys etc, and circulation can continue after the engine stops....... 8) My V8 has stainless re-packable silencers. I know you can't with the SVA coming up, but I just let them get louder and louder and hunt for tunnels  ...been in a shed too long. Good luck with the test. Have a well chilled bottle of Moet ready!!

Here is a couple of pics of the water pump as you can see the belts are a lot neater so once I get it sent back and sorted I will keep you informed as to its relablity. Mean time I have had it sitting ticking over up to temp and the fan kicks in and brings the temp back down no problems, on the road may be a different kettle of fish.
