Not without spending stupid money Phil. I didn't like my water system /joins / jubilees so being a Ford I bought a Raceline water rail -- much more tidy . Vauxalls :?: don't know -- maybe SBD

jubilee clips are naff anyway. you can make it look a lot more tidy by spending a few quid more on mikalor stainless steel hose clamps! they look pretty smart and tighten a lot better than jubilee type clips too!

Hi Phil

Just watched a 4x4 is born today and he had the samco hoses made for it but don't know who you would go through to get them.

sfs hoses are far cheaper than samco and are of the same design quality using the same standard of materials! however getting pipes made specially for a one off will cost a fortune as they first have to make a metal die for the silicone wrap to be formed over, then they have to form the pipes! Its quite a complex process.

maybe its not as expensive as i imagine but looking at the price of silicone hoses in kits that are already designed, i think perpose made ones are going to be big bucks. let me know if i'm wrong though!

The pipe work is not that bad, and as i'm changing engines next winter i thought i could spend the money saved on something else, its worth knowing though for future reference.

Hi,
I’m curious as to how people have threaded there coolant pipes through the front suspension to the radiator. Both my pipes are on the driver’s side and I’ve a Polo radiator but I’m sure the problems are the same for anyone with both pipes on one side. I’ve got a bit of room in front of the engine to allow for manoeuvre but want to avoid too many bends so the system will bleed easily.

Cheers

although i'm running a zetec and my pipes are on the left hand side, i'm sure its pretty much the same. i've got the one that goes to my water pump going under the swing arm as far away from the spring as i could get it. it then bends 90 degrees downwards over the front chassis rail and then 90 degrees again onto the botom of the rad.

the top hose comes from my raceline water rail and drops at a 45 degree angle onto the top of the rad!

if you want pics i'll try and put some on here. let me know!

WATER PIPES

Mine does the same as Alec's . Just underneath the rocking arm so the arm's movement doesn't touch it . It's in alloy under that bit so no big deal if it does touch.

Hi,
Thanks; yours sounds just like a mirror image of what I'll need, any pictures would be helpful as while I think I undersand your disciption I'd like to get an idea of what sort of gap you've left to the spring etc.

Cheers
