Floods !

Post by whiterabbit »

Had a bit of an issue here on Friday night, had to build a dam in the road above my house and garage to stop the water getting in. By all accounts we got off very lightly with only a huge gas and electric bill to launder several sets of clothes, towels etc.

Has anyone heard from Alec Martin, Mike Bunting or Dave Hugget? Are you ok guys ??

Steve.

Just back from Florida and we had 5" of rain in an hour you could not see 10 feet in front of the car but 1 hour later you would have thought it never rained. Could not believe the pictures of the damage caused by the rain glad you are ok.

yeah i'm ok at the moment! i live near the top of a hill. if i'm flooded there we're all in the S**T!

however, work was a little wet. brize norton was the wettest place in the uk with 121 mm of rain in 8 hours!

lots of water here but it all seems to be flowing downhill to the likes of lechlade now and fairford! they are totally shut at the moment and no roads in and out! the air force has been tasked with sand bagging over the next few days but i can't help thinking that maybe we are a bit late for a lot of people! sorry guys!

hope everyone else is ok!

hope it dries up this week as i can't get home from work at the moment and i really would like to leave work after a 60 hour week!
