lightwieght flywheel on e-bay

Post by PeteC »

There is a flywheel on e-bay for £115 and weighing 3kg. Item number: 110152618482. They said it would be £50 for the ring gear and they could quote for a clutch (7 1/4 inch item) if I give them more info. Basically I was hoping all the brains out there could give me their views, as in does it look any good to you?
P.S. does the ring gear bolt-on on standard zetec flywheels or is it machined?
Thanks Pete...

The most important question for them is if it's balanced and up to what rpm? If not balanced, stay clear of it.

The ring gear is a shrink fit i think, meaning they heat it up so it expands put it over the flywheel and let cool down and shrinks itself on the flywheel.

And the best thing is that they balance it with the cluth on.

As you really don't want the following to happen in a rwd setup.
