Post by MALKYVAL »

I post this just in the forlorn hope that someone has heard of or from Tim before i blow another30 quids worth of fuel to go and hopefully find him in Llanidloes.

Of course those of you with shares in oil companies wouldnt tell me would you?

On a serious note i will post my findings again .I dont expect they will be good .I have a bad feeling about this one .malcolm

My feelings that things were not good were right ,but not for the exact reasons I had thought .

Tim has been in hospital for 4 weks with Meningitis .

I have seen him and spoken at length with him, although he clearly has been very ill .One of the plus sides of being in hospital is that he has had a lot of time to think things through while he has been looked after.

It is clear to him that the only realistic way forward for him is to keep painting and decorating for a main income ,with the hope of making a side income out of support and spares for the car .he does have some stock in and promised me that this weekend he will open up his computer and try to make inroads into his back log .He says it is unlikely that he will be building more for the forseeable future.

For those ,who like me were frustrated that the damn phone kept letting you put a message on it , seemingly indicating that he was ignoring it .the sad thing was that it was charging at home on the work surace ,and that is why it didnt run out of power .

I see that there is a swell of opinion that a self help group re build advice would be helpful. Whilst i agree with that it would be a shame if we didnt go to Tim for parts ,not only to make sure we get the right ones but also to help ensure the future supply .If Tim is unable to make headway that is a different matter but lets see if he can drag himself out of it .Like I said the crunch time is this weekend.Do not hesitate to contact me either by post on this site or privete message if you wish

Thanks for letting us know Malcolm . It's hardly surprising he's had meningitus with the stress on him these past months , business wise and domestically  He'll be weak for some time now I'd think

Sorry to hear that, a month or more of sick is a real downer when you're self employed. Let's hope he's back on his feet soon for everyones sake.

I hope he will recover quickly and at first i send to him all the best wishes I could imagine.
About the features of my car I will write in the appropriate topic, anyway pls remember my english spoken and written is from a foreigner and be patient with me.
Thanks a lot

how to register a kitcar in italy

Post by GIACOMO »

Hi Werner, in my opinion starting from a box of bit...ehm in italy is impossible.
I have bought the car used in uk and as the Kingdom is a CE country so a used car can be regularly registred in any CE country. That's all. Any other way I do not know and, more I do not want to know. I hope to have been of any help.
All that told my chassis n. might be 179, but I have to check better.
Now I need the three way connection of the brake circuit whom has the brake light connection.
The redbrake lights are not operative at now. Is this item easy to find?
I am sorry to have ended out of theme
Best regards

Erm, depends what kind you are referring to, best is to take a picture and show us. There's so many possibilities for the braking system that it could be anything from any kind of car. Some have the brake light switch directly on the master cylinder, some have it on a T piece, some have a integral in line unit, so a picture is the best way.

I think I know what you mean. Do you need just the brake light switch that screws into the three way connection, or also the connection itself?

My stylus has the same setup and the brake light switch also failed. Inside the switch, the brake fluid leaks past the rubber diaphragm and corrodes the electrical contacts. I got my replacement from Merlin Motorsport:

They also do the unions too:

Meningitis

Post by Cerberus »

I can sympathize with Tim this horrible disease nearly killed me, i was ill for four months and if it hadn't been for my mothers sister who was a nurse on the intensive care ward i was on watching me like a hawk i would have died, there were four who had it and sadly two died, i still have scars from when i had it which was a very long time ago when not much was known about it.

I have never eaten dog poo since
Must try harder

I suppose the moral to this story is that if you do have to eat dog poo ,make sure you know what the dog ate first.I have seen your change of mind re selling the car .Good luck with the rebuild
