Anybody actually done it...
Hi Ady
Rob will be back off hols tonight, so he'll give you his two-pen-eth.
That's on two cars the green car he updated & his own red sprint car.
Andy Bailey too, but he's since sold his car.
Also got them on mine, but done something different.
I've modified the suspension pickup points & used the extra 2" to lower the car,
without compromising the spring/ride height/shock piston travel.

For me there is no discussion . The first design was incorrect unless you required the car to emulate a ' giraff ' When JEREMY PHILLIPS designed the first Stylus , it didn't have the same spec' shocks/springs as P.Powells first sale car. Things were altered for manufacturing reasons , so then when people set their car to what looked like the correct ride height (visually looking at the RED demo car ----- J.P. spec ) it bottomed over rough roads and with passengers. I KNOW ---------- cos that's what happened to me --------- bent rockers , bent rear arms . A long story of constant developement improved the car massively through competition BUT Tim's new design rear arms were the answer , hence no new chassis went out without this change after that point. If you fit them , the result will transform the car on road and even more , on track. The only thing to be discussed really , is the spring rates/lengths. That will depend on the use to which the car will be put plus the individual and his weight.Ady8077 wrote:Any Thoughts Rob?

Thanks for the reply, everyone said you were the best person to comment. I've never liked the way the car drove on poor roads, I'll await Tims recovery and order some new arms and his advice on spring rates etc
Anyone no the current price?
Arms come complete with bushes fitted / powdercoated at £100 ish a pair from memory .

Tim designed the new arms to be retro fittable to all existing cars , even a Fury if the shock mount hole were moved a little I fitted 14 inch shocks with 9 inch springs to mine and the green car but with different spring rates . The shocks Tim fits / advises are 15inch with 10 or 11 inch springs . If you are skinny like me and don't carry passengers then 180 rears are fine. If you are 100 kgs ish , closer to 200 lbs. If cost is a concern/weight , then fit 1.9 inch x 15 inch shocks NOT 2.25 inch. Mark Berry , on this list owns the car I fitted new arms / shocks to(1.9 shocks x 9 inch springs) .Bikenuts wrote:So that just leaves a couple of questions; is it possible / worthwhile for those of us with early JP spec cars to fit the dropped style arms? What length shocks are fitted to the different variants i.e. J.P spec, P.P spec and Dropped (T.B spec sounds awful )
