For 7 years I've made do with an SSC 'exhuast system' - I don't know if that description would actually be allowed under the Good Description Act!
Now Wunoff have delivered the first part of a hopefully, much more effective system.

Yes Rob - 'tis made to the spec you gave me.
So if it doesn't fit, its your fault

Actually very impressed with the welding and mandrel bending.
Not bad for 200 + postage.

If you have trouble fitting it into the manifold you're having made then I can expect a little ' banter ' am I bovered I'm sure it'll be fine giving you another 8 to 10 bhp ish Use 300ml of ZX1 Extralube after your oil change and every other change .

Its Ok Rob, I'm getting the silencer fitted, then taking the car for its manifold to be made - so they will make it fit!
I'm intruiged - What does this extralube stuff do then?

I use it in engine / box / diff ATB Type(not if it's plate type) also use their grease . Very wear resistant. Look it up on google and read the complete website , it's all there. Doesn't change the tolerances . Dunnell didn't replace the big ends when he rebuilt my engine to the latest spec' and my car's been competed since 2000 That came up in conversation with him when discussing what I wanted but he said '' well it's been dismantled now and I'd be taking money off you for nothing if I replaced them '' When you think how harsh sprinting/hillclimbing is to an engine , all those standing starts over 7 yrs My view is that what goes into the sump is bloody cheap compared to the internals so use REDLINE RACE 30wt plus the ZX1 .

I also have the SSC (PP) manifold & silencer. It is @@@@, and is as useful as ####.
So I also need a replacement. I guess there cant be much difference in the engine positioning if a type 9 gearbox is used? Would it be possible to purchase a "copy kit" and retro fit ? If its not to cheeky a request.

Are you running a zetec? If so, I'll see what I can do re the manifold.
re the silencer - just speak to Dave at wunoff - I'll give you my drawing which he will make from.

The manifold was my spec -- ie. if zetec , then 28 to 32 inch primary lengths(must be equal) x 1.75 inch diameter --- into 4 to 1 collector 2.75 inch through pipe , then the biggest diameter silencer you can fit (in my case 6 inch but 7 would be good with modern trackday db limits)
My manifold was made in situ by Graham Frankland in Buckingham for £600 then the silencer repackable was secondhand ex-- SBD developments dyno at £200 / BTB made it.

The guy I used was doing it on the side, however, I know of a very well respected manifold fabricator in Llay, he made a lovely one for a mates DB5. I don't even think he's that expensive.
However, I would budget £1k inc T304 tubes for a decent manifold.
I ended up using 2" tube and not 1 7/8" as Rob specified. However still made 199 at the wheels so I think the manifold was doing ok!
I have a drawing of the silencer somewhere I could dig out for you..
