Hand brake - confused.....

Post by Nissanman »

I'm rather confused about the handbrake. The hand brake is mounted on the outside of the tunnel, and there is a small piece of tube welded in where the diagonal box section the hand brake is on meets the bottom rail. I also have the hand brake cable with the crescent shaped end, but there is no obvious way to connect the two together.

Do you know if I'm missing a part? Anybody got any pictures?

Thanks
Jasp

PS Wiring just about finished and ready to wrap...... we're getting there....

that is the older style handbrake. The latest one is like NissanMans.

You have a tube which goes between the 2 tubes on the chassis in the tunnel. There is then another tube on the outside, which has a lug that you position to the correct place, then drill and pin the assmbly together. I do have some pics of ours at home i think. Its a far better setup than the older style system.

Yup - your right Pete and Matt, I have a different system to those images - sounds like what you have. Any pictures gratefully received..... and I can post a picture of what I already have tomorrow.

Thanks

i have attached a pic, though the fork should be pointing down and the single piece bolted between the handbrake lever and the mecanism. Will give you an idea of what it should look like though

you think your confused! I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to get the sierra handbrake cable to work on the capri live axle and still connect to the stock handbrake. I think i'm there but i need to weld a bracket to the axle to hold the 2 halves.
Help! just starting out

Edit: Getting the hang of it............. Slowly

Doesn't look like it does it :) Easy enough to fabricate those bits though.....

we also machined up a nylon bush to go into the chassis tubes, as it was like a dick in a bucket. You could always try contacting Tim.......
