Just a quick opinion from someone would used to run a digi-dash system, the one problem with these is that you cannot read them with peripheral vision as you can traditional dials. I had a Digidash on my old Se7en car, and whilst it was very reasonable and simple to wire up, it drove me nuts when using it as you have to be looking straight at it to read it.

With traditional dials you don't have to look at them directly to still be able to see roughly where they are, so when you're hooning it down the road or track they are much easier read. Hence I went for the SPA system this time which combines dials for speed and revs with digital readouts for everything else.

Believe me Werner , you wont be able to read the speedo without taking your eyes off the road . Tim fitted one , I drove his car on track at Enstone track day and couldn't possibly read and drive. He later said to me that he'd never fit another one ----- a needle is easy to judge where it points from your memory of a clock If the sun is in your back you'll see nothing.

I'm spending at least £12k on my car, I don't want to crash it 'cos I can't read the display properly .... and it'll also be used for endurance rallys around mountain roads, I don't want to be missing any hairpins!!

If you think about it the dash is the interface between human and machine, and as such has a vital role to play in how you drive and interact with your car ... I certainly won't be making the same mistake twice. And if I couldn't afford the SPA one then I'd have just bought cheaper regular Smiths type gauges.

I have a digital dash on the bike & dont find it a problem. However I only use the 1st layer of the display. And covered something like 35k miles on it.

The Stylus dash is a Stack unit. I dont find this a problem, but admittedly I do have to scroll through the display to see how the water temp is for example. The unit is set up so that if say the oil pressure drops or the water temp goes high an LED will come on & the display jumps to that setting.

And surely some one is reading the info from the pits anyway

But I,ve grown up with basic mini's that only had Speedo, Temp & Fuel, or Land Rover with only a working fuel gauge, so any more info is too much.
