The Stylus has got to go .....

Post by Nissanman »

Just a couple of months from completion and I've come to the conclusion that the Stylus will have to go as soon as the car is SVA'd. With the car worth well over £10k I need to put the money back in my business as times are hard (I paid for it from the business so it's only fair) and we've got a big project ahead that will need some extra £££££.

So if anybody knows anyone wanting a newly SVA'd Stylus in a few weeks time then let me know. Very high spec, no expense spared, from a full SPA dash system to a fully tuned 280bhp turbocharged engine, and awsome bodywork to match.

Gutted, but that's life I suppose......

Worse than real sad, as you are the only other Stylus builder to use a Nissan Turbocharged engine.
Was hoping to swap notes with you re many of the build problems, like for instance --- the Intake Plenum is higher than the rocker cover, so the Bonnet needed to be raised some 3 to 4 inches. How were you going to fix that one ?? A custom Plenum with straight input pipes is over Aust.$800 here abouts.
Perhaps the new owner will join the group & add some info ???

Rather than mess with the engine I've had the bonnet completely re-designed to fit the engine, took a year and lots of ££££ but I'm happy with the result. Here's what it looks like now. And I'm quite happy to answer any questions about the car that I can.

Jasper may be the only builder with a SR20 but there are at least 3 of us with CA18 DETs ( which I think you have??); Iain aka Roo4, Greg aka gnalist and me Matt aka Bikenuts. Iain and I have are taking the route of lowering the engine until just a small bonnet bulge is needed and then mod'ing the sump if necessary an alternative is to build your own plenum using the lower part of the standard one - a couple of people on the 200sxoc have done it - at least one of whom also posts on the locost board.
