Headlight options?

I removed the headlights while i do the flip front and they are in a pretty bad way. Is it possible to buy a direct replacement, if so, what are they, or are there any other options available without doing loads of fibreglass work?

I think there's 4 otions:

1. porsche style headlights
2. frenched in 7" headlights
3. VW polo headlights (se7ensport)
4. BMW Mini One headlights (Intam not a member on here i think)

Close Werner, mine are actually Lupo, they are really bright and give good visability. However, they are quite deep compared to something like BL mini headlights and required a lot of filing and trimming of the case to prevent wheel rub at my ride height;135mm front on 15 195 50 tyres.

lights from an Elise would probably work well.

"Frenching is the act of recessing or moulding a headlight, taillight, antenna or number plate, into a car body to give a smoother look to the vehicle.The name originates from the end result looking like a French cuff of a shirt sleeve, which has a ridge at the end. Also known as tunnelling, it's a common modification used on leadsleds and customs since the 1930's.

Frenching a headlight or taillight is done in one of two ways: either removing the bezel, mounting the light deeper in the car's head or tailight nacelle and using the headlight rings from another car (or an aftermarket kit) to mount it deeper into the body. Or it can be done by modifying the light's mountings so that they can be removed from behind, welding the bezel to the body once the chrome plating's removed and painting it body colour. This gives the effect of visually lengthening the car, as well as smoothing out the body. Many customs have lights from another car transplanted in place of the original factory items, but even these are frenched as well."

my bowls are tilted back so i think i have the porsche ones, if i put normal round ones, they would point to the sky.

anyine know what porsche model they are from.

Porsche 356 / VW Beetle

Two parts needed, outer shell & inner light unit.
Make sure you get halogen headlights & the sidelight plastic holder.
Don't get sealed beam units, they almost as good a two candles !

They look right, but it says US spec, so i think the dip is wrong for UK

You can have mine when I've SVA'ed my car, but that will take some time i fear.
I only need em for sva and change them to mainland dip afterwards.

But if you don't have any, i'd go for the bmw mini headlights or the vw polo/lupo ones.

i have had a look at the bmw mini ones and they look really deep. I'm not paying 150 quid each for a beetle ones ether. The BMW ones are also not square to the front of the car, although nothing a bit fibre glass resin couldnt sort.

I keep staring at cars wth round lights seeing which ones i could fit. I assume i cant just buy the twin lamp ones that are on the orange car on the stylus website. I have also seen them on a red one that is raced on here.
