Number plate moulding

Post by peteb »

I'm thinking of making up a moulding so I can recess the rear numberplate into the boot slightly, probably only 8mm or so. I've recessed the rear lights in already so I think it would improve the look of the back of the car if the number plate was recessed as well rather than just been stuck on the surface. Has anyone else on here done this before or is there anywhere I can get a preformed moulding from?
Cheers

the previous webmaster Jeremy did that I think. Should be described in his profile on the site, now under Lee Davies http://www.clubstylus.be/cars/members/jbp.html

what we did was measure the number plate and the added 10mm all round and cut a hole. The remaining bit of fibreglass we then recessed and fibreglassed it back in place. Thats what Tim did anyway!
