Got SVA date - 6th April
Re: Got SVA date - 6th April
Thanks Ant, great idea, I'll give it a go if all else fails. Fronts are .625 I think.

Re: Got SVA date - 6th April
I think that's bad advice. Larger M/C = less brake line pressure (but a firmer pedal).Nissanman wrote: Spoke to a chap at Compbrake and he reconned to try a large MC for the fronts, so I'll give that a go.
Think about it this way: for given M/C pushrod pressure, that pressure (lb) is distributed over the area of the bore of the M/C (sq in). This is the pressure of the hydraulic fluid and therefore the braking force.
Therefore a larger bore = less lb/sq in = less braking force for a given pedal pressure.

Spot on Jeff , which is why I fitted 5/8 ths to the front and 3/4 to the rear . Something much more fundamental's going on with Jasper's brake problem , unfortunately we can't look at it from here so it's difficult to advise -- however , a big clue is that after adjusting the rods etc as mentioned in another post , the brakes have improved but are not yet right . It's going in the right direction so it's to do with the adjustment of the pedal box , even though it's not correct yet

Re: Got SVA date - 6th April
you have the same front M/C as me, my rear M/C 0.7. I agree with the 2 posts above, I think its a case of adjustment and more bleeding then a bit more bleeding still. I took me weeks to get mine sorted. The wifes leg was aching

Ground off half the rear pads about 2mm - which were green stuff - and had another play with the balance bar - now the fronts are finally locking first....
Thanks chaps .....
Now all sorted for SVA, just got to set up the fuel tank on the SPA dash once I fill her up and it's all done......

glad you got it sorted but I would only have it as a temporary measure. It should be fairly straight forward to get them working properly. If i managed it, then i'm sure you can.
Good luck with the SVA
