MOTORCRAFT 928M-8575-AE TEMP' = 88 -- 102 and with the RACELINE waterail housing you need to drill out the '' ball-valve '' to 3 or 4mm's .
Probably if you'd asked for a 1998 MONDEO thermo they'd have one or at least know what you meant

Many thanks, just about to drill the hole out. Then it may be a bit happier in the cold, i`ve just run some hot air pipe to the carbs as they dont like the freezing weather at a reasonable speed "officer"

Well Cams in and new cambelt kit, it seems to run smoother "bonus" comes up to temp much quicker now with new stat too and the fan has started to work not bad for 4degrees of sunshine Why do people in tintops have thier hats and coats on then look at me and think "he must be cold in that little car"

Re: Thermostat part number
You could add '' water wetter '' by REDLINE , that'll see the running temp' about 92 degrees which is the optimum for zetec performance What radiator are you using ? Mine never gets that high even on track .Ned wrote:"Brave" that a understatment i went out early today from Gosport to Popham Airfield via Winchester back roads -3 in Gosport and -5 in Popham till sun came out then it was a barmy +3 saw some real nutters flying in in thier bi-planes.

Re: Thermostat part number
Vw rad fitted by the looks but there will always be a slight error in gauge reading! I cannot now make my mind up if its running smoother or its running down on power which makes it smoother. the cam profiles were different when laid beside each other but only a very small amount but thats all its going to be i surpose. So i may have to put the thermals back on once this white stuff goes and have a little play again.....Phil

Re: Thermostat part number
Ned , did you note on the ' engines ' topic that I've drilled the thermo hole out to 7mm ? The one Raceline supply is a Ford but with the stem cut off just below the wax bowl . I looked all over mine for temp' markings but just found a 93 marked on it and no range . Ford says 88-102 on the original plastic thermo. I never really worried about it until this crack in the head was found , just watched the dial now and then.

Re: Thermostat part number
Hi yes i`ve been following, i went to our local Halfords and they had a shelf full of stats so i just found one that fitted and temp around 94 and yes i did drill a hole but around 4mm i think but since then i have had no issues even got stuck in a jam during summer and it controlled fine and was out today "Brrrr" and it went to 90 on gauge and all was well.
