Dear All
Car has just failed the MOT on play in the lower n/s inner wishbone bushes! Given that SSC is not traiding does any one know which poly bushes will fit? Car was originally completed in 2000 (but not by me). Many thanks for any help.

Yes , no problem . Wisbech Engineering if my spelling's correct you'll find it via google/phoning them is best. Sorry I don't remember the part number so simply remove your existing bushes which should be orange in colour and measure ---------

Outer diameter/bush section
Overall length
Top hat diameter and thickness are not important because they can either be washered up or ground down to fit . If there is ' play ' once the new bushed wishbone is offered up ----- washer the bulkhead side not the radiator side(This will give you better castor)
When fitting --------- make sure that the BOLT grips the '''inner metal tube''' NOT the poly top hats (it means grinding a 0.5mm off each top hat if required --- it's because wishbone ends vary slightly by very small ammounts) Ignore advised torque settings for these bolts ---- pull them up VERY tight.

I'd check too that the holes in the chassis mountings (where the bolts pass through) haven't become ovalised too.
This could have worn if the bushes weren't fitted in the way Rob mentioned.

Thank you for the very helpful replies! I spent what felt like hours yesterday get the ishbone off. Both bolts were seized in the inner tube so had to be cut off - seemed to take forever with a junior hacksaw! Once I started to take it a part it became apparent that the front bolt was loose so hence the MOT fail. Fortunately the chassis hole remains round but the bolt had clearly worn! I will get the new bushes sorted out on Tuesday and hopefully get it back for the re-test next weekend.
