I nearly finished the plastic hood, but then found that it didn't roll up very well to sit behind the roll bar when not in use.......so Mk2 here we come. I bought 2m x 1.5m of hood material off e-bay for £31 (inc £12 carriage) and a new (windowless) hood is in production. This time it will be good....and it looks a bit like a drug baron's sports car being all black from the back. 8)

Yes, I got it mostly finished. It works, but is glued and folded rather than stitched, and I'm waiting for a local chap to complete a big helicopter trimming project before he adds the final touches and puts a rear window in. This will be in November. I'll post some pictures as soon as it is done.

Hi Alex,

I folded and glued the hood, and it is ready for stitching. A local trimmer promised to store my V8 until November when he could eventually finish it for me. (I'd waited over a year for "Softbits for Sevens" to make a complete hood, with no result). The day before the car was due to be taken over to him, the bxstard cancelled, leaving me in a right mess.

I could have made lots of plastic polytough ones (they wouldn't roll up neatly), but have no plans for making more of these. If I need another, I'll risk a lower roll bar and get one off the shelf. I think Tim has some vinyl ones listed at about £160'ish?? from memory.

Regards,

Paul.

thanks for the info mate, sorry to hear about your lack of success, I've been trying to get hold of Tim but think his phone is up the shoot again (rings then goes crackly without getting through to answer phone).
