My car's got everything on switches - one battery and one fuel. Switched the battery on, light comes on, all good. Switched the fuel pump on... nothing except the ignition light dims for a split second then flickers slightly so something's putting load on the system. Took the ground off the fuel pump and the light remains constant when the fuel circuit is switched on. To me that says knackered fuel pump; any other suggestions?
Fuel pump's got 6F96 AU2635 written on it. A 12V DC 5.5-9psi universal jobbie. Google suggests an OEM part number of E8012S. Gotta love scrabbling under the car on what's forecast to be the hottest October day on record rather than going for a drive!

Take 12v directly to the fuel pump to confirm. Could be the switch breaking down? Does the switch go via a relay?josephmoore wrote:any other suggestions?

Is it not pumping fuel then If it's definitely the pump , I still have my competition RED TOP that fueled mine when on Weber 45's including brand new spare filter ---- negotiable
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Definitely not pumping fuel - it's bolted to the rear of the tub so you can clearly hear it normally. Not a peep from the pump at the moment. Got the multimeter - will get under there tonight and see whether it's the pump or the wiring to blame!

Re: Knackered fuel pump (probably)
Belated solution: It was the fuel fump. Dead as a dodo. Replaced with an identical type part the other week (http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p1461 ... _info.html) and it's sorted.
