New Side Exit Exhaust

Drove the car back home late last night from having the new exhaust fitted. Got some tidying up cleaning and polishing to do and some heat reflective matting to fit to keep the fibreglass cool.

I think it looks good. Will take some getting used to hearing the noise from the side instead of the back, although my intake noise masks most of it with it being a 6" silencer

I'm glad you had the silencer built with domed ends and cut the f/glass in a rounded fashion at each end . It makes the whole visual effect more '' ex - factory '' than straight cut body and silencer. Hopefully you've also cut the body away underneath the silencer too --- that's what will give good airflow around it so keep the bodywork cool. Around 15mm between f/glass edge and silencer is enough for safety heat wise. Reflective stick-on inside the front cill where the manifold and 4 to 1 is the most important area .

Just thought --- did you drill three or four 75 to 100mm holes under the front cill/manifold This helps the hot air to be sucked out while moving .

Nice Exhaust, but I would shift some of the wiring near the manifold.
I found that area got very hot when running the Zetec, to the point of the wing being hot to touch - just something to keep an eye on.

Just removed it all last night to give it a clean and sort out some heat reflective stuff.

I've got no holes under the cill where the 4-1 drops down. As there is no bodywork left under the silencer I didnt think I'd need this and was only going to cover it with the heat reflective matting, as I would have thought the huge hole would pull out alot of heat from the engine bay aera.

Not high temp and I have already started re-routing the wiring to be away from the minifold. Was just waiting to see where he fitted everything before moving things like wiring and the washer bottle.

Now with the wiring moved and more reflective heat mat... Also remounted the washer bottle in a far better place.

My washer bottle is roughly that position and it's survived about 15 years! Never had a problem with it freezing either for some reason...
