Re: Radiator rt V8
The LINKS page on this forum has my recomendation for radiator suppliers.
It's www.aaronradiator.co.uk ---- best thing is to measure the old one's WIDTH & HEIGHT of metal area --- also note where the inlet , outlet and temp sensor positions are . Photo too , then phone or email them for a match . (you can tell them it's for a V8 with bhp etc)
Don't forget that it wont necessarily be a ROVER V8 item , as it's a kit so every person/builder will choose a different radiator just like all other parts when self building

Thank you for the link stylussprinter

It may well be a deisel one , it takes more to cool a turbo deisel at 18 or even 23 to 1 compression ratio , so capacity is larger . I use a Passat deisel for my 2lt zetec from that company at £46 .SSC V8 wrote:Thank you for the link stylussprinter

Re: Radiator rt V8
Are you sure compression ratio is the controlling factor in engine temps? (although I do agree the charge must be pretty toasty after being through a turbo and then squashed to 1/18th of it's volume!) I thought it was more likely to be quantity of fuel burnt, and diesels run well lean of stoich most of the time for various reasons (the main one being because they can!). What is more likely to make manufacturers fit a large radiator is when they specify a high towing limit. High torque levels plus low speeds (i.e. towing up hill) = huge cooling requirement.
However, as you have seen from most of my posts, it is more than likely that I am wrong! Just thinking out loud. Interestingly petrols and diesels are converging in this area- the latest skyavtiv engines from Mazda for example, petrol 14:1, diesel 16:1. Those clever Japanese chaps eh?

And in the case of the Audi 100, the rad was the same for the diesel and petrol engines.
(probably because the petrol was bigger at 2.2/2.3 than the diesel 2.0)
