Yes, I'm running a Megasquirt-n-spark extra firmware to drive sparks only on my rover v8 powered stylus. I'm using the stock coil, but I've fitted a VR sensor to the crank pulley. I simply cut four 'teeth' into the rim of the crank v-belt pulley for the VR sensor to pick up. This VR sensor (from RS) along with the MAP sensor is all I need to run sparks, and it works very well!

Dunno about doing wasted spark. I've always wanted that, but not sure the best way of going. Might be best to use Ford EDIS8 or maybe 2xEDIS 4? One thing to remember though is that you can't easily throw away the dizzy, since it's needed to drive the oil pump. My thinking was because the dizzy needs to be there anyway, might as well use it to distribute the sparks.

If I did it again, I wouldnt bother modifying the crank pulley, but simply buy a 36-1 trigger wheel (http://www.trigger-wheels.com) and fit that. My solution works well, but it was more work!

Cheers,
Jeff
