I used the ones in the photos above. There's a dip and side in one lamp then a main beam in the other. You need to fit a peice of alloy plate into the headlight opening bent into a dog-leg shape then fit the lamps into that. I've got two for the drivers side and another short one for the pasenger side but they need new adjuster pins. Cost new from SVC is £46 plus vat each and delivery. You can have my three for £90 cash :?:

where did you get the covers to go over the headlight opening?, do you have any close up pictures of your lights on the car? also, how did you make a surround for the lamps?

Thanks, you've made me do one of those jobs that never seems to get done.

I've had halogen vw/porsche units on the shelf in the garage for 2 years
Just gone from 60W Main /45W Dip to 100 Main / 80 Dip !

The pics should give you the idea on the Porsche type lights.
I've got SSC headlight bowls bonded in (so the tyres rub on them instead at full lock)
The headlight shells are as per your link, & they aren't US/UK handed (they're clear).
The headlight itself is any 7" unit, with sidelight. "Drive on the Left" type for UK roads.
I bought the original setup from Autocavan, now part of German & Swedish. Euro Car Parts should do them too.
The upgrade headlights I got from Europa & their part nos are in the pics.

Cheers

Matt

Not sure what you mean by a surround :?: I've got photos of the lamps in the car but they're not fitted now as my car's too low to avoid ripping them out under HARD cornering on track -- hence just the 3 lamps  email me at design@robertfarleylandscaping.co.uk for pic's if it would help. Don't want to block up this forum with photos already on here

SSC supplied the poly tinted covers but obviously didn't manufacture them so I'm sure they can be made/ got somewhere

Great for seeing things, but I've a vague memory they aren't actually legal?
Either way, make sure your wiring is up to the extra load (including the switch)!

We'll for the amount of time I actually take it out in the dark...... Don't think anybody will get too P'd off.
It's not really that bright from a distance anyway as the car is so low compared to other cars.
Much more likely to get blinded myself by on coming traffic.

Didn't think too hard on the bulbs/wiring.
Just asked Europa for suitable bulbs, didn't realised they'd supplied upgraded versions & there's no legal warning on anyone's website who supplies 100W bulbs I can find.
Did find the vehicle lighting regs on the web, there seems to be no statutory upper wattage value stated, just that the lights "should not blind other traffic".
Anyhow..Think I'll measure the current draw. In theory 100W@12V = 8.3A draw each. Too much for a 15A fuse. bit less if the alternator is generating 13/14V.
