Yes , that's right . One new and the original pattern from the passenger side. The billet uprights are gold adonised and I had the gold hammerite anyway from doing the rear drums years ago  .

The arch extensions I did with a brush but this area's so much bigger and more obvious , it had to be sprayed. It'll show anyway on the join . I considered rubbing down with wet and dry when the paint's 24 hours old but not having done it before , I'm not sure what the result might be

Any paint experts out there :?: :?: :?:
Nice recovery, Rob.

It's amazing how resilient & repairable GRP is. :)
Are you happy with the final finish ??

Just image the work if that had been a nice Ali bodied historic !

Are you happy with the final finish ?? NOT REALLY -- that's why I'm getting on with the mechanical stuff that I understand BUT it is repaired at least , just looks obvious re- the paint

Got it all together again apart from mounting the callipers and fitting new wheel bearings which I'm waiting for. One problem was not keeping the paperwork from the Raceleda uprights with all the torque settings  I'll have to contact my friend to get his advice. All the upright threads are coiled so they're only finger tight at the moment.
The set-up of the wishbones is simple enough because I marked everything plus counted the threads each rod-end was per corner ---- it took a lot of hassle and experiment setting it up when I first rose jointed everything so it was worth recording all the positions  .
When you've got a friendly set-up it's good to be able to repeat it
I had intended to take my grand children out this afternoon BUT the Stylus got the better of me  so the management has taken control

Still waiting for torque settings on the uprights so they're not bolted up tight yet. The wheel bearings arrived in the post today so the old ones are knocked out and new ones pressed in/grease packed all ready to fit :D Very boring swiddling your fingers when you actually have the time to work on the car but can't move forward for the want of parts OR tech' info .
You'd think with 50 years of fitting wheel bearings to everything from a tractor to a lawn tractor , road and kit car , that I wouldn't over tighten them  Can't think of any other reason that I've messed up two sets over 4 events and 2 track sessions :?: In case it's the nyloc method that Raceleda supplied in the begining , I've bought new stub axles for the uprights that are grooved and split pinned , like FORD always used ----- hopefully they will stay the course this time. They aren't loose / warn but are a tad notchy when you turn the wheel when it's jacked up :?

Did my grand parental duty this morning going through 11 plus questions with my 10 year old grand daughter  SO ------- I thought this afternoon , now the torque settings have arrived via email , I'd bolt up with locktite then fit the hub/disc/bearing assemblies -- h'mmmm
First side went on a doddle , all bolted up and bearing adjusted , calliper bolted/torqued :D
The other side was a pain ---- wouldn't push on at all , period  It was so difficult to get off without damaging the new seal too --- however , having got it off and removed the seal and bearing , I tried the bearing only up the stub axle ------- absolutely no chance :?
Cleaned all the grease from it and measured it against the old one only to find it was 1.5 mm smaller diameter  I've never had that happen in 50 years of spannering  --- outer bearing was fine :?
So now it'll be bl-----dy Tuesday before I can finish the job , what a pain :x
Not ideal , cos next week we have the other two grand children coming for a week --------------
Can't believe it's the 28th June since my car breathed life , getting bored :(

Just fitted the ' correct ' bearing at last. It arrived this morning while I was working --- you know , that stuff you do to pay the bills
Just need to get it up in the air at the rear to see if any damage was done there seeing as it sounded pretty loud spinning around over that rumble concrete  May have to shift the axle a touch for a touch more clearance between prop' and tunnell under cornering --- if that's what I'm hearing through the quick corners :?:
Paint job needs more work but it's not going to stop me getting on track 8)
MOTORSPORT EVENTS have a trackday at Abingdon on the 26th Sept' which would be nice being 30 miles from me ---- if they let me in , that is :?: I've emailed them begging  Their info says road cars only  We'll see
