Can't tell you everything lots of work and cash because lowering in itself isn't the sole answer . Short gap from tyre to arch = short travel = stiff springs = switchy handling = more development to drive it quick = more money ---------- easy init
I cant wait to get my car out start tweaking her....

Re: TRACKDAY !
Just been looking at MOTORSPORT EVENTS photo pages of the Abingdon trackday on the 26th Sept. There are some interesting pic's showing the blue 210bhp Stylus through the chicanes then mine going a little quicker . The difference in set-up is very apparrent which I did realise but seeing it is more striking
The company is called Photo Direct uk , if you look it up on google then click MSE for the list of 2008 events . It's 26th Sept Abindon and strangely they term both Stylus's as Fisher red / blue By the way , the smoke in my photos isn't the tyre/tarmac , it's the inner body (just behind my right shoulder) rubbing the tyre. This always happens on my car when carrying a weighty passenger due to my set-up . I could avoid it but really can't be bothered to change everything just for a trackday Lazy me
One thing it does show is that a Sagaris cannot catch or pass a Stylus although it did get fairly close at the chicanes
Sorry --------- just realised I had mis- spelt the photo people's name

Also, just out of interest, what does your weigh?

Re: TRACKDAY !
I've no true knowledge of his set up but it looks just like my car did when I competed for the first time in it which was 2001 . I remember talking to P.Powell about it's abilities or otherwise on track ---- his answer was that J.Phillips designed it and therefore it couldn't be improved upon That was the begining of me learning about set-up through developing my own , disregarding most other Sylva owners comments (very similar to P.Powell's) . Even discussions with Mark Fisher once about what I'd done so far and what I planned doing next , drew raised eyebrows ---- he thought , at that time , that 130 rear and 180 front lbs springs were quite adequate He had a look at my front lowering device too and smiled
Well look where they all are now regarding spring rates as standard only the BEC boys run 130 lbs Our chassis , along with most other Sylva designs are potentially brilliant but need developement .
Weight wise , my Stylus isn't ultra light at 615 kgs . With all the things I've done over 8 years competition developing the car , I'd now say that chassis/suspension improvement will give more reward than weight and power , regarding lap times. The bit that an amatuer can't accurately analyse is what percentage of improvement is down to time in the car I suspect --------- quite a lot
