a 2 litre zetec (i assume) has to be pretty special to make 230 bhp..... no wonder you want to look after it.
Help! just starting out

Edit: Getting the hang of it............. Slowly

Yes , it is a great engine . Paul Dunnell has a reputation for getting more from a Ford , torque wise , than most . Don't forget she was pulling 8300 rpm on the dyno and still climbing however my limit on budget meant it had to be held to 7700 rpm , on a regular basis for track work . He's always cautious and rightly so when you consider the cost. He would have been quite happy to let it rev' to 8300 rpm for track work if I'd gone for a dry sump. Everything else is there for it to produce 240 bhp plus (he has zetecs producing 270bhp and more with steel crank/rods etc ). His torque curve only varies 7 % from lowest to highest lbft 8) plus it's virtually flat against other tuners print outs I've seen , with similar bhp
Aaron Scott drove it once and was impressed with it's mid range grunt . Tim's also been on track in it and was surprised too , even though he knew its power on paper .
It's taken me a year to use that new found grunt at the top end to lower lap times , basically because it means cornering in a higher gear and flat than I previously did ---------- it's a ' mental ' thing ---- your brain tells you it can't be done ---------- so you need to by-pass that function and try it :o
That's my phylosophy anyway ------ your brain can stop you looking at things clearly OR trying something out  especially if you're an OAP
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Matt told me last night that after fitting the ARB up front , it totally transformed the track performance when he was at Snetterton :D Nice to here when a plan comes together  Apparently an instructor told him after sitting aside him driving the track '' this works , doesn't it '' (meaning the whole balance of his car)
Thanks for telling me Matt :) What a damn good night out last night was aye :?: --- The FDMC dinner dance / 50th anniversary of starting the club :o
