talking of money when building a kit too, budget how much you want to spend, then add half of that aswell and you will be about right!

Motoring news was a good source of bits for me. My Quaife gearbox came from GRAHAM HATHAWAY via motoring news , couldn't resist it but not budgeted for 
Well , it's either that or spend it on the golf course which didn't appeal
