I've had a reply from the organisers confirming my request for a 15 car stand
There's also a discussion going on regarding the possibility of passengers being permitted ---- now that would be fun , probably at a
cost
though
This really is turning out to be a golden opportunity for our 'STYLUS meet' with a lot of awesome retro cars plus invited demo race cars of various decades , to browse
NOW CONFIRMED
PASSENGERS GO FREE

I've still got some kevlar and carbon fibre sheet left ---- come up to mine and I'll fabricate a ' neck/shoulder brace '
OR ------------ drive conservatively

So we can't take passengers up the hill as it stands? but we can go up in jeans/t shirts and no helmets??? I had based my arguments to the missus on attending as she can have a few runs up the hill with me and any other willing drivers
And we need a neck brace to do it aswell? but no helmet? Hmm think I'll have to give it a miss then as it would have cost enough as it was but if no passengers are allowed and we need to splash out on a neck brace, I'm out
sorry chaps hope someone gets some good pics and posts them on here please.

NO NO NO
That was just Matt taking the pi----------- s out of ' ned ' having a painful neck
Passengers were taken up the hill last year on this event after having attended the ' drivers ' briefing , even children apparently . My contact said he'd come back to me to clarify it definitively and that was only this morning
On any motorsport activity , even a fun run your arms/legs have to be covered ie. no shorts or short sleeves whilst in the car --- no big deal.
Helmet wise --- not a requirement for road legal cars , just show licence , ins , mot (only cars like mine need scrutineering plus all usual rules because they have no other means of checking soundness ok ------- also , I don't have a neck brace in competition)

Rob- looks like my car won't be ready in time for this meet. Had another minor set back that means the engine is probably coming out again. This isn't really a problem, but I'm not at home much at the moment! I will try to attend in my tin top to come and say hello.

A shame --- but come anyway , it'll be a great day out plus a '' STYLUS MEET ''
and I'll have more caps made above my 10 ordered in case hopefully more of you want them

Passengers definitely YES

Passengers go for FREE
----------------- that is a great deal , most charge for a passenger on a trackday or charity day , BRILLIANT
You simply need to attend the briefing when the drivers do and get a wristband before leaving ---- that's it --- you're ready to go

Rob
Just had a quick look at the retrorides site...
See there's 650 camping pitches & they're pretty much sold out - so its gonna be a busy show.
.
We've got a stand, - do we need to buy entrance tickets or have you got that covered ??
Do we need to pre-book runs up the hill, or is it arranged on the day ?

Yes you'll need entrance ticket , as said in earlier posts --- £7-50p online or £10 on the day . Once I have the stand tickets which are free to us , we'll decide to either post out to all OR some other arrangement.
Hill run tickets you can only book on the day
--- so once I'm there I'll be up to the appropriate booking place to BOOK a few runs ----------- leaving it may result in not getting a run
I'll be there as soon as the place opens it's gates
Had a long chat with Tony Garner , who hillclimbs his 1934 Lagonda Rapier Special 1100cc/ twin supercharged / vintage beast at venues South and North . He does around 46 sec's at Prescott
Officially we wont be timed ------------- BUT ---- I'd like to know what my own times are , at least the first and last attempts
My new camera will be on board so it can be set the moment I leave the line then off at the chequered flag finish line OR with a passenger on my phone
They wont be amused if seen though
