The white one is the test template, made from foam sheet.
Used it to check shape & hole positions.

Should have the real one cut from clear polycarbonate for next weekend.

A friend has a plastics business, so it's a CAD-CAM profile sent straight to his flatbed cutter.
Cuts one in less than a minute, so very easy now to try different designs.

H'mmm , go on then sort it out but not in Anglesey or Llandow , just too far . It's a lot of money for one guy to negotiate and stump up before getting enough runners
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

i know, i organised 6 slots for 9 of us at cadwell last month and with the B&B it was over 1200 quid!

Well i have rotorstock on the 20th August which i want to go to and dont want to risk crashing/breaking the car as i am competing but i could find one for september or october that is as central as possible to those who want to go.

Sorry for the thread hi jack Matt, how long do think it will take to get yours finished and shaken down?

Also, where would suit?

Hiring the track exclusively then attempting to get twenty plus cars is evenore stressful Tony , but that was three years back now , not something I'd try now .

Slightly off topic, but what is that material you are using as a screen? I've been looking for some sheeting that will hold its shape after heating to make inner wheel arches. How did you shape that?

Hi Pete
The screen is made from polycarbonate, which is impact resisant & UV resistant (stays clear rather than going white).
But... its cut from a flat sheet & only takes shape when tensioned into the screen surround.

So not really what you want. I've had some success heating up the fake carbon effect black plastic before, bends after heating with a hairdryer. Not sure what "material" its is though.

Hi Tony

Well realistically I'll be happy just to get it back on the road this year !!
Too much non-stylus stuff going on. Hoping to do a couple of club sprints in Sept & Oct - that's my target.

A trackday with a few Stylus & perhaps other Sylva's would be good too... probably one the Silverstone or Bedford Autodrome layouts appeals the most. For cost effeciveness though - airfield days are cheaper.
Just not sure I'll be ready before the winter wetness arrives.

I was having a giggle with you, but it went a tad flat

If it's anywhere near the home counties I'd come to a Stylus track day - would love to give her a proper shakedown on track but I think I'd get more out of it driving with similar cars and, hopefully, there'll be less chance of some Hamilton-wannabe doing something daft...

Silverstone or Bedford sound ideal 8)

Exactly , which was why I did the Stylus ' only ' trackday at Llandow but it's difficult to get enough numbers for an exclusive day

Well... about a year later than planned... MOT tomorrow, come rain or shine...

Will be the first time I've driven the Stylus more than a 100yds with this engine, and first on-road since taking her off the road in May 2010.

Got a 30 min drive each way to a test at a mate's garage.
Good job, as need to get the tracking checked, headlight alignment done, & brake balance bar bias set up.

Those hood pics show the 12yrs of updates, looks very different these days, but its been a fun journey.
